WTF are you talking about, man??? It was said hundreds times: once one use EAD, h(is|er) H(1|4) is GONE!!! Per my lawyer, if you filed H1 extension before expiration, you are ok, in this case ext. filing date make sense.

Why even bother?

Forget worrying about about CNN and Lou Dobbs. They are NOBODY and of no significance for the quest for immigration reform.

If CNN drops Lou that will not pass CIR or recapture. There are so much Lou Dobbs are there in USA. It is a waste of time.

Wrong and Wrong.

Lou is broadcasting his radio show from Federation for American Immigration Reform's "Hold Their Feet to the Fire" legislative advocacy event. No points for guessing what the event is advocating for. Just wait for CNN to drop Lou and Fox embraces him. It will be just in time when CIR comes back on radar.

If you have been even remotely following the healthcare debate, the fewest (however idiotic or uninformed they are) make the loudest noise, scaring lawmakers. THAT is guaranteed to affect you and I (well not senthil as he already has his GC).

Thanks for your time guys...just curious hopefully SB can help me...how do I find out my I-140 subcategory(skilled category or Professional).In my I-140 receipt notice under section it mentioned as Skilled worker or Professional, sec.203(b)(3)A(i) or (ii)

If your i-140 reciept mentions 'Skilled worker or Professional, sec.203(b)(3)A(i) or (ii)' Then you are good to go.....dont worry about it was applied as skilled worker.... you should not have any problem in getting the approval again if you company financial status is good..

Even PA DMV also adopted more troublesome procedure of giving DL to the LEGAL IMMIGRANTS.
Even after having VALID EAD DOCUMENT, verifying ORIGINAL USCIS documents and ORIGINAL SOCIAL SECURITY CARD why DMV want to check status with USCIS again?


What do they get out of that process?? Seems like another way of harassing LEGAL IMMIGRANTS.

Why redundant procedures???... Why to waste tax payers money with these kinds of redundant policies??
Why individual states like PA, GA and SC adopting these policies??

Please share your experiences from other states if any similar sort.

Same is the case with Missouri. Earlier in one of the DMVs ( in the same city of St.louis) one official just bluntly denied to consider a valid EAD card, where as 5 miles on the otherside of city, same day, same deparment issued a paper License and sent all the copies of 'Oroginal' documents such as EAD card, SS Card to USCIS for "verification"
my personal opinion is not that they are trying to harass, but rather lack of proper directions

What your lawyer says in incorrect. I have had my visa stamped successfully only for 3 months validity in the past. Even this time I have only 2 months left (until Feb 2008) but am still going for stamping. So do not worry. As long as you have one more day left, you can get it stamped. Good luck.

I would very much appreciate if I could get your input in the following situation.
I have plans to travel on 7th Dec but am still waiting for my AP. The AP was aproved on 6th Nov along with my spouse's AP on the same date. He got his AP (thru lawyer) about 10 days back, but I did not receive it. Chances look bleak that I will get AP before 4th Dec (by which date I need to cancel my tickets to get a refund). However, I have a I-797 which is valid till Mar 2008. I wanted to use that to get H1 stamping in India, but when I spoke to my Lawyer, I was told that I cannot do so beacuse the 797 is expiring in 3 months.

If you have a recent experience of getting H1 stamped with your I797 expiring in a few months please do reply.

Usually I get my Visa stamped in Chennai. I have enough info to survive in Chennai.

This time it is not going to help much as I am going to Mumbai. It is a pain from the first step. I finally got the appointment for 10th Dec. I have to have some body hand deliver documents there in India..Oh well..

I have the appointment at 9:30 AM and was planning to fly out of Mumbai Airport same day at 1:30 PM. Now it looks very ambitious! What do you think? :confused:

I have no idea about lodging near consulate. I tried my luck near the airport many times. It wasn't pretty.

Any recommendation on Hotels and area near consulate ? I am not going near Five star / Rs 10,000 per day.
I am looking at ~ Rs 2,000 for 7 hours..

Any help is appreciated..:)

I used to work for a company A in california.. Boss is kind of using very bad language constantly and torchers almost everyday. Is there any1 who can help me out or has similar situations. You look very angry. Take a shower. Do you think Core team is there to answer every question that is asked here ? Did you hire them as a full time employee ? How did you reach the conclusion that they are working for their benifit ? Look in to the mirror, ask yourself a question what you have done until now to help yourself to bail out of the mess you are in, I mean what efforts have you made to meet the senators and congressmen of your area, how many people you have influenced to join IV, how much you have contributed to help IV stay afloat. Only if you have satifactory answers to these questions, come back and ask questions.

To my surprise, we just received both EAD & AP with corrected information. The mail room person did put in a folder and sent it overnight DHL. Sweet!

Thanks for your reply guys. I just came back from international travel and I thought I should share here for the benefits of others.

My lawyer at new company suggested we apply for AC21 just to be safe and we did the same before I traveled and I kept copy of it with me. I was told that officer doesn't generally ask for employment but I was asked about it during first inspection. He asked me where I work now and who filed for my GC. When he found out that I work for different employer he said "I thought you can't change job while this is pending". I didn't respond as his question was casual and I knew I would be going through secondary inspection. I didn't want to go into AC21 discussion with him unless he insisted. He didn't say anything and sent me to secondary inspection.
No question asked at secondary inspection at all.

I hope it helps other. just be prepare in case.

--Yes surprisingly it happened for TSC dates during March VB in Feb'08.retrogressed from May 24,2007 to April 10,2007

Politians will act when they think it is time to act. It is already known that the CIR is planned for second half of May in the senate. Why would they want to lay it out in detail and have those against conduct minute analysis and attack it. So they will only reveal the content closer to the debate.

It is clear Nancy Pelosi has told Bush, if you want it, deliver me the Republican votes and then I will schedule it. She is not going to spend her political capital on CIR. She knows Democrats will vote for it, but republicans will play both sides and she does not want it to happen. The senator who are elected for 6 years (as opposed for 2 years in the house) are less affected by short term public opinion and do what is right for the country. Even there Presidential hopefuls change their tune, like McCain. He was too left of the republican party and now he is moving too much to the right and will please no one, just like Romney.

Secondly there are no "individual constituents" when it comes to Immigration Voice. This is an organization OF, FOR and BY the "EMPLOYMENT BASED LEGAL IMMIGRANTS". We neither support nor oppose rewards or penalties for or against the undocumented workers (illegal immigrants). Individual members can have their own "opinions/biases", but NO individual member can speak on behalf of Immigration Voice on major issues. As per my understanding, ONLY the IV Core team/Board members as a WHOLE can make such decisions.

Yes you are true, FP doesn't have anything to do with EAD approval.
However if you apply EAD online, then you will get FP notice as a part of the process.

We did not apply online. It is a paper-based application that reached USCIS on AUg 14th.
