I have a unique position. couple of weeks back I was told that have fatal cancer and won't live pass 4-6 months. After recovering from initial shock I am wondering if my wife will be able to continue her american dream or she will have to head home after me.
I have filed 485 with approved 140 back in june, 2007 with PD of March, 2003

For your Information India's GDP is 3 trillion USD compare to Mexico 1 trillion USD. Taking into account GDP of EU India ranks 5th in GDP higher than any indivisual European nation where as Mexico ranks 13th. This is as per CIA worldfactbook. So where did you get the number

But since you raised the subject, PPP GDP is adjusted to accomodate for different inflation and consumption rates in different countries. Without the PPT adjustment, India's GDP is equal to Mexico's, even though India has 11 times the population of Mexico. The reason India comes in 4th with the PPP adjustment in the world is because the ruppee is undervalued and Indians have a purchasing power that is 4 times smaller than Mexicans. So, to humor you and use your method of calculation, the Per Capita GDP (PPP) Of India is $3,344 in 2006 and Mexico's is $12,886. "Where are all the Mexican doctores, computer scientists, economists and professors?" you ask. The answer is: They are IN MEXICO making huge salaries, when the Indian ones have to come here because their salaries in India don't give them enough money to eat. Why aren't all the construction workers and lawn workers in the U.S. Indian? Because they cannot affor the airfare. The Mexicans just walk accross the border. Any you know what? All those Indian Professors at Harvard etc are teaching class to all those rich Mexican kids. Get your facts straight before you confront me and make fun of my MBA (which I got in the U.S. incidentally, not Mexico, but if I had wanted I could have gotten a top 20 MBA back home). I had long dely in gettting my 485/EAD/AP receipts from USCIS and I wrote to my local congressman. It really worked and got the receipt numbers from congressman office.
Try to write to your local congressman and explain your situation in one page.

Hi,
Can someone explain the process of using AC21 for self employment? I have searched the web without much luck. If someone can throw some light on this topic along with how to deal with issues that come up with AC21 and self employment I would really appreciate it.

Even though right now FB2 is not far behind the gap will progressively increase due to post given below. Consider 2 glasses half full. If you pour 50% water from 1 glass to another 1 glass will be 75% full(EB) and other glass will be 25%full(FB).
Our intention is to findout if CIS interpretation is correct. If spouse can stay in the country with EAD and AP and if Primary gets GC first. It won't matter much becos, that EAD will not have any strings attached on same or similar etc. So we should be OK.

Did you change your mailing address after you submitted your I-485?
Some time they correspond to your old mailing address even though you updated the address with USCIS.
Did you check with your Attorney? Is the correspondence address given is your mailing address or Lawyers? Some times Lawyers give their address for correspondence to USCIS.
These factors count where the approved mail goes to. I am sure you might have checked these before. If you over-looked these, then these may be the areas that you have to check on.
My 2 cents.

How about forcing FBI remove reference files from the name check? Basically put the name check process back to how it was pre-Nov. Dec. 2002 ? Here's the story of name check
In Oct-2002 a person was cleared by FBI as having no records but INS somehow found that he was involved in foreign counter intelligence investigation. So it asked FBI how such a person could be cleared with no records. At that time FBI checked only the main files (even today FOIPA requests checks only the main files) and it didn't find that guy in the main file. It then queried the reference files and found him there. So instead of investigating why the agent did not add this record to the main file what it did was add the reference file to search. The reference file will have all sorts of records, good or bad including stuff like traffic tickets, witness to a crime, FBI Tipping etc. So now if a person has a hit FBI has to determine whether that hit was due to a good deed or bad deed from the person. What kind of stupid decision is this ? If a fellow was missed in the main file then action should be taken to fix the main file not add all and every other file to the search and start manually separating wheat from chaff.

How about we come up with a skit where we can reenact the drama about the whole episode in a funny way. Where we can have people portraying roles of USCIS Director, Secrtary of State, Immigrants calling franctically to India to get their documents, parents running around to get doucments, the start of rumor, the employees of uscis working on sunday to adjudicate the cases, then the flip flop of DOS. etc. Then we can put this on youtube and will attract publicity.

This basically tells me that they need to be given the same status only if they can't given immigrant visa in other category. But if they can be, why should they be used in this category? As someone said earlier, FB for Family is actually better than EB2. So this basically rules out their rational on giving EB2, EB3 dependents on this VISA.

Mr. Vayalar Ravi , Minister of Overseas Indian Affairs,is coming to USA on June 27,2006. He is coming to Washington DC on July 4 to meet Indian Ambassador and Indian community. We should try to meet him personally and explain the problems we are facing. He can talk to US counterparts and do something for us.
Let us organize an event to meet him on July 4. Since It is a holiday, lot of people can meet him and chat with him.

Hi,
There are several restrictions/constraints for many ppl for not being able to devote time/money for the general cause. Let's not fret about the reasons. While it would help for all ppl to join forces that should not distract the group that is doing something about the issues.
And ppl on the sidelines - pls don't be a passive professional critique. However valuable your comments and ideas are they are useless without acting upon it - they are just like seeds sown in a barren land. The good work of the forum will continue without your presence. With your involvement we all can reach the goal that much more faster.
My Labor certification is actually filed in the state of IL. But i am on an assignment in MD till Sep 2010 (after filing for relevant amendments).
It's ~5 hrs drive for me to Baltimore/Washington-DC. So, coming every week for a meeting is not practical. I am extremely eager to support OUR cause given the commuting constraints. I have already written to our congress man here to bring to his notice the struggles of wannabee immigrants.
So, where do i sign up?
Harikris, I hear you. People are in different situations. I was not mad about moving to this country and for a long time, I preferred travelling instead. Then I reached a point where I preferred to be with my family and thought it is best if we move here and we filed for our GC at the same time. If it does not work out, I am entirely content moving back. Heck, even if it does work out, I might move back.
I am not crazy enough for my GC to spend all my waking hours trolling forums and calling people names. It is just not worth it. I do donate, the same way that I donate to the local zoo and botanical garden. I give them money to run something so that I and others may benefit from it. The people who run it are passionate about it and do it for themselves and others.
If things work out, everyone will benefit, the people who worked, and those who didn't, the people who donated and those who didn't. When India fought for its freedom, people donated money and time. I am ready to bet that less than 1% joined in the strugle. There were people who worked for the british government and there were people who went on with their lives. Everyone got freedom, the people who worked got recognized and remembered. That is life.
The ones who are desperate need others to pitch in to create a critical mass in terms of both money and numbers. I think this realization needs to sink in and insulting people into getting donations out of them is probably not a strategy that will work very well.
These forums are an excellent rallying point and I think more people being helpful and polite will go a long way.
Of course, I say all this with my leathery skin waiting to be called a useless idiot who writes bullshit.
