Too bad you did not bother reading up on the net before you took your job. I researched what is involved prior to leaving grad school and I knew it was a long wait. Like I said quota is there because of numbers / diversity. US needs programmers from more than just one country.
And its not really a quota since numbers are rolled at the end of the year to oversubscribed countries. Your notion of separate queues derives from your ignorance of how immigration works. Why hasn't anyone challenged the quota in the Supreme Court ?

I'm so thrilled that this happened ... I actually expected this to happen ........ Not sure why they didnt simply make it U .... Hopefully will spur all the EB2 folks to do something rather than thinking that the problem is only for unfortunate EB3 filers :)

NY Times, Washington Post, Reuters, Yahoo News are a few to name. Bollywood, has recently issued a statement providing its full support to Immigration Voice, the non profit organization behind the flower campaign.
An American way of fighting injustice "A law suit" is on its way, the usual rallies and demonstrations are about to begin. However, in America, its first time after Martin Luther King Jr., that someone has tried to apply Gandhi's way to fight injustice. It is yet not clear that what would be the outcome of this campaign, but there are rumours that USCIS is already discussing internally to reverse the discriminatory decision which resulted in this flower campaign causing enough embarrassement to them.
Its amazing to witness that 60 years after Gandhi's demise, his ideology is still relevant. We are sure its gonna remain relevant till there are Lord Wavell's in this world. Wavell's can momentarily laugh thinking that unorganized immigrants are helpless, but when the peaceful protest will demonstrate its political power, they surely will realize what Gandhi and Gandhian ways are all about.

Why don;t you sign unless it say until and after 1 year approval:, you can leave employment after 6 months of filing I-485 and see what happens at that time, you have nothing to loose

Dear Mr. President:
This email is to register a strong protect against the visa bulletin released for Jun-09. In the tough time of 2009 that USA is facing, you are trying to do everything you can to protect the futures of the citizens of your country and I admire you for that. I would also like to point out that the visa bulletin pushes back dates for EB2 Indians to Jan-00 which virtually means no green card for Indians unless they are in EB1 category. I have spent almost 9 years in this country, legally. In 2005, I initiated the process for green card through EB immigration. While many others from different countries such as Europe, Asia and also China came here much after I have and contributed less than I have, they have gotten their green cards much sooner than I have and some of them have even become citizens. When I say I, a lot of my fellow citizens also face this unjust separate queue for Indians.
Please help me understand as to how someone from country A having a longer queue than country B coupled with an indefinite time wait is a fair and equitable treatment?
I understand that you feel sensitive to protect jobs of Americans in these tough economic times, however; it is beyond comprehension that while citizens of all other countries are being welcomed with no wait for green card in employment based category that there are virtually no green cards left for any Indian, even for those who have stayed here longest.
My message may or may not ever reach you but, I wanted to register a strong protest against unjust treatment meted out to me in the area of immigration.

I got my receipt notices (485,765,131) yesterday. I had my 140 approved from Texas. Lawyer filed 485 package on July 17th to Texas. I got my receipt notices on 09/18/07 from Nebraska.

Guys, any update on your FP notices? I have written to ombudsman almost 3 weeks ago about not receiving FP notices and nothing yet...
What are you guys thinking as next step?
No update from my side. I had called last week and week before that. Apparently I got the same IO the last two times and first time she told me no FP scheduled , security check cleared. Second time she said no FP scheduled and I asked about security check and she said its still pending. Imagine same IO giving inconsistent information regarding my security check. I am not even sure to believe anything they say anymore. I am not even sure if they really look it up or not.

My wife got EAD approved on 16th Aug and I got my approved today. I do not know why 10 days of delay.
One thing I noticed is within last week or so, lot of people are receiving EADs and I485 processing is slowed down. I think now they are concentrating on EADs and come sept they will again jump to 485s. Just a guess!

My lawyer is taking his own sweet time to apply. It is frustrating. Do you guys think that there is any chance that they will stop taking 485 applications at some point before 30 june? Please reply...we are worried.
