My 485 application was filed with NSC on June 4th, 2007. I know it is too early to expect receipt notice.
Who will receive the original approval notice?. Attorney or me?. Who will receive the FP notice?.

Thanks Zooom, for starting this thread. I've mentioned about IV Core's selfless service in our 'Thanks' thread couple of days ago but didn't know about the magnitude. $64k is helluva money and its just not right coming from one pocket to favor thousands of others. As far as I can remember all I needed for SIN card was my landing papers and my passport as ID. I did not open a bank account in Canada so I can't help you with that one.
Is there an advantage in opening a bank account if you plan to return to the US? Please let me know. I might want to open one myslef if it's going to help in anyway.

How do you know its rare? Do you know every Indian, every Chinese, every Mexican, every Phillipino [ all non-ROW countries] who has ever applied for EB GC? Mathew Oh posting about it shows it's being used by substantially.
In the same stroke, if we count the people who got stuck behind despite earlier PDs using real statistics, it may turn out to be less than 'Alternate Chargeability' + American spouse cases. Most people have been getting GCs by PDs!
Labour substituition is no longer allowed. But thousands of Substitution labors got approved just prior to July 16th(?) DOL deadline. So how trustworthy is the "holy" PD?

As far as I can tell from this thread, no one who was eligible to file 6/1 has had receipts yet.
I was told, attorney / employer will receive notice of receipt for I 485, not employee. For EAD / AP - that goes to employee, not attorney / employer
I got 3 out of 6 on monday by mail.

I landed in Ca in Jan 08. my 485 pending. I had expired h1 when landing. I went for h1 stamping in Toronto during the trip. at the consulate you have to disclose you status in Ca. I told I just landed yesterday, and the officer congratulated me, and I got h1 renewed for 3 years (my h1 was renewed after my I140 was approved, but before I applied for 485 - so 3 yrs extn).
at the windsor border (drove by car), I even disclosed to guy that I landed in Ca. He did not say anything, but just asked to show my vehicle registration. Also he asked if I don't have to then live in Ca, I told him it's not necessary until after 3 years to maintian my residency there. He said Ok and let me in.
again it's better not to lie about you Ca pr, coz there's the landing stamp on your pp, even if you removed the document stapled on your pp.
again i've been to Ca twice since landing (with the doc staped on my pp). no problem re-enterin US.

My employer says EVL is not required for 485 filing. How do I make him understand that it is required? Any links from USCIS website or any authentic info will be helpful. I searched and couldn't find it!! TIA

ok. Assuming BILL pass during the lame-duck session... what is timeline for it take effect? I believe the president has to signed it and it take 90 days from that date to be effective? Experts?

I never had a soft LUD on my 485 because of EAD renewal.... But one time I saw it, but my lawyers filed AC21 around the same time.... So I would think it was because of AC21.... So I was always under the impression that EAD renewal has no LUD's on 485, based on my experience
My wife got a soft LUD on 8/21. She has PD of Dec 2005 EB2 (I). I wa shappy to see some activity but then i saw the following thread (http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/forum5-all-other-green-card-issues/1599851-ead-renewal-but-i-485-update.html#post1981520) . It looks like some got the soft LUD on their 485 but their EAD was in process and same is the case wiht my wife. She applied for EAD renewal last month.

I just called national customer service center for my 485 receipts and the lady told that nebraska filers should still wait for 30 more days before they call for receipt updates...she said she was answering the same question since this morning and mentioned that it could still take atleast 30 days for nebraska center to register the applications...
when I asked her if she knew whether my case has been transferred to TSC already (since my 140 got approved from TSC), she said she wouldn't know that answer...her bottom line was to wait...
what a mess!!!!!
